We have an apricot tree in the back yard that produces a lot of fruit. My favorite thing to do with the surplus is to make apricot jam. Here's my quick and simple recipe:
Halve and pit the fruit. I use a paring knife to slice around the apricot, the pit comes out easily.
Run the fruit through a food mill using a disc with relatively large holes, Jason Heisshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07377919426705058481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5538818.post-71445658990852941942010-05-10T16:40:00.000-07:002010-05-10T16:40:01.692-07:00Traffic Services Around Pasadena, CA
Summary: If you have a choice between Clear Channel and NAVTEQ get Clear Channel.
I have a Garmin nüvi 660. It came with an introductory subscription to the Clear Channel Total Traffic Network (TTN) traffic service. At the time that was the only available option, so when the introductory subscription ran out I purchased a year subscription. Jason Heisshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07377919426705058481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5538818.post-27239737264697018072010-03-31T18:14:00.000-07:002010-03-31T18:14:07.302-07:00College Student and Intern Resumes
Having just reviewed over 200 resumes for an intern position on my team I have a few words of advice for college students writing a resume.
The two most important things on your resume are your education and interesting projects you've done. And by interesting projects I don't mean homework, as I've just seen at least a dozen resumes from USC students Jason Heisshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07377919426705058481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5538818.post-85471953589216366662010-03-26T10:53:00.000-07:002010-03-26T10:53:32.946-07:00I've been on a bit of a Flash game kick lately. If you've seen more than a few you've noticed that 1203 is the most common and rightly guessed that it is gasoline. When you call to talk to their sales folks they toss around the terms inside or outside sales. Curious what that meant I went looking for a definition on the web, and had a very hard time finding one. The best I was able to come up with is this page from the US Jason Heisshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07377919426705058481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5538818.post-1090441664993606112004-07-21T13:27:00.000-07:002004-07-21T13:27:44.993-07:00This happens to meJason Heisshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07377919426705058481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5538818.post-1085441612100459892004-05-24T15:52:00.000-07:002009-12-23T16:14:06.196-08:00Hem is a great band. Besides their albums, they've made a handful of MP3s available of other songs they've recorded. They don't have them all listed on the MP3 download page on their website so I thought I'd collect a list here. There have been several other songs that have come and gone from their download page over time. In particular, if you can get ahold of "St. Charlene" I highly Jason Heisshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07377919426705058481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5538818.post-1083511028625746712004-05-02T08:16:00.000-07:002004-05-02T08:20:17.793-07:00Buy our houseJason Heisshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07377919426705058481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5538818.post-1082072395137430602004-04-15T16:39:00.000-07:002004-04-15T16:43:18.513-07:00Several years ago, while riding the ferry out to the San Juans, I wrote up a new system for measuring time. I'm tired of carrying the piece of paper around so I'll put it here for the world to see.
We have this great metric system for measuring mass, volume, etc. But we still have 60 second minutes, 60 minute hours, and 24 hour days. What a mess. Instead I propose a system with 100,000 Jason Heisshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07377919426705058481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5538818.post-1079550354684940912004-03-17T11:05:00.000-08:002004-03-17T11:08:18.030-08:00It's big, complicated and scary, but we need to do something about health insurance in the USA. I'm not saying this for my own benefit, I've always worked for employers that provided nice PPO health plans. But the system seems really broken to me.
First off, having employers as the primary providers of health insurance seems weird. You don't get your auto insurance from your employer... It was the top of the line of the second-generation of what are now Palm PDAs. It served me well for many years but was starting to show its age.
So I went and bought myself a shiny new Palm Zire 21, from Fry's again. I transfered the data I wanted to keep and went on my merry way. Well, until I got to work the next morning and found thatJason Heisshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07377919426705058481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5538818.post-1057763170891141802003-07-09T08:06:00.000-07:002003-07-09T08:06:10.906-07:00Put up the pictures from our trip out to the island this last weekend.
